Join the Friends of Amate House Society

The Friends of Amate House Society was established in 2003 to encourage, develop relationships with, and acknowledge individuals, parishes, and organizations that give over $1,000 in unrestricted funds annually. Through the generous and substantial support of our Friends of Amate House Society, we are able to put our plans into actions for continued growth, while sustaining our programs in the present. Donate in Honor or in Memory of a Loved One

Remember a loved one’s birthday, wedding, anniversary, death, or any other important occasion you wish to commemorate by making a contribution in his or her name. We will send a note acknowledging this thoughtfulness to those whom you designate. Amate House keeps these individuals in our thought and prayers. The individual’s name will also appear in the Amate House newsletters with an invitation for the entire Amate House community to pray for these individuals. Make a tribute donation online now.

Planned Giving

There are a variety of ways to support Amate House through your estate plans, and each option has its own tax benefits. Informed decisions about your estate planning options can help you ensure that you have provided for yourself, your family and your loved ones while also supporting continued work of Amate House. Bequests

A will, or bequest, is an easy but important way for you to ensure that your assets are distributed the way you wish and that you have provided for your family and loved ones. A charitable bequest can also benefit your heirs by placing your estate in a lower tax bracket and is completely tax deductible. Amate House encourages you to consult with an estate-planning professional when making out your will.

You can designate Amate House as the recipient of a cash gift, a percentage, or residual remainder of your estate. It is important to use a detailed designation in your will. For example:

"I leave [dollar amount] to Amate House, 3600 South Seeley Avenue, Chicago, IL 60609"

"I give [percentage amount] of my estate to 3600 South Seeley Avenue, Chicago, IL 60609"

"I bequeath all [or percentage] of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and

personal, to Amate House, 3600 South Seeley Avenue, Chicago, IL 60609"

By leaving a bequest to Amate House, you are establishing a philanthropic legacy that will continue to provide experiences of full time service to people in need, community living, and faith formation to young adults. These experiences transform the young adult Volunteers, and the people they serve. Ultimately, your gift will help Amate House continue to develop future leaders for the church and world, committed to building a more just and loving society.

Other Planned Gifts

A meaningful donation can be made by simply naming Amate House as the beneficiary of an existing account:

Make Amate House the Beneficiary of your Life Insurance Policy. (In order for this to transfer

smoothly, make sure you name Amate House as both the owner and beneficiary. Amate House can

only accept paid-up policies.)

Make Amate House the Beneficiary or Contingent Beneficiary of your IRA or other Retirement Plan.

Does your company offer a matching gift program? If so, your employer may double or even triple every dollar you give Amate House! Contact your company's Human Resources or Community Affairs Department for information regarding its matching gift program.

Cleaning house? Moving? Have a few “extras” lying around? Put your items back into use by donating them to Amate House! Amate House is grateful to receive needed in-kind contributions and services. These can include donated professional services, everyday household items, items for special event auctions, or other unique contributions you or your business has to offer.
