What is Amate House?

Amate House is the young adult volunteer program for the Archdiocese of Chicago. Amate House seeks to support the leadership and faith development of young adults while providing valuable services to underserved schools and social service agencies in the City of Chicago. Young adult participants (ages 21-29) live together in an intentional community, receive ongoing support, educational opportunities, participate in faith formation activities and perform either full-time volunteer services for one year in inner-city areas throughout Chicago. Currently, there are 36 Amate House volunteers. Over the past 26 years, it is estimated that our volunteers have completed over one million hours of service work and touched over 250,000 lives!
