Amate House currently consists of THREE different houses of Volunteers.
The Amate House Program for full-time Volunteers has been in existence since 1984, and consists of three different program houses with the same mission. Volunteers are recent college graduates who live in community, share a simple lifestyle, participate in opportunities for personal, professional and spiritual development, and work full-time with under-resourced agencies, parishes and schools throughout Chicago. Currently there are 36 full-time Volunteers.
The Amate House North community is located at 4220 N. Sheridan Road. It is housed on the north side of Chicago at St. Mary of the Lake’s Parish. It consists of 10 Volunteers.
The Amate House South community is located at 3600 S. Seeley. It is on the south side in the McKinley Park community at St. Maurice Parish. It consists of 12 Volunteers.
The Amate House Little Village community is located at 3108 W. 24th Street. It has been housed in the Little Village neighborhood on the near southwest side of Chicago since July, 1999. It consists of 8 Volunteers.
